Lara Dutta Biography 
Lara Dutta is an Indian actress who was crowned Miss Universe in 2000. She is serving as the UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador since 2001. She is also a model. She was born on 16th April 1978 in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
Her father L. K. Dutta belonged to Punjabi descent and her mother Jennifer Dutta is an Anglo-Indian. Her father is a Wing Commander. She has two elder sisters and one younger sister. She had her schooling at St. Francis Xavier Girls’ High School and then at Frank Anthony Public School. She got her graduation in Economics from the University of Mumbai.
She dated Derek Jeter. She was engaged to Mahesh Bhupathi, Indian tennis player in September 2010 and they married on 16th February 2011 in Bandra. She won Gladrags modeling competition and so could enter the 1997 Miss Intercontinental. She got first place in that and was also crowned Femina Miss Universe and Miss Universe in 2000.
She had to meet the tough competition from Venezuela, Spain, Canada and USA and could get highest individual score with 9.99 marks. In the same year Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza also won the Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific title.
She started her acting career with the Tamil film Arasatchi in 2002. Her Hindi debut was through the film Andaaz in 2003. This was a huge success and got her award. Then she acted in many films like Bhagam Bhag, Blue, Housefull, Elaan, Kaal, No Entry, Ek Ajnabee, Zinda, Partner, Om Shanti Om, Billu Barber, Satyameva Jeyathe, etc.
She won Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for the film Andaaz in 2004, Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer for the same film in the same year and Rajiv Gandhi Awards for her contribution to film industry in 2008. She also was nominated for IIFA Best Supporting Actress awards for the film No Entry in 2006 and Stardust Award for Best Actress for the film Billu in 2009.
