Lalit Pandit Biography

Lalit Pandit is the composer brother of Jatin Pandit and nephew of classical exponent Pandit Jasraj. He along with his brother Jatin Pandit has given valuable contributions to Bollywood music industry. Later after separating from his brother, he has given music to hit movies like Debaangg, Dulha mil gaya, Red Alert, Mr.White Mr.Black and one song for Force (Dum hai to aaja).  The last movie they worked together was Aamir Khan Kajol starrer ‘Fanaa’ in 2006.

He, along with his brother, entered music industry through Yaara Dildaara in 1991. Music of Khiladi and Jo jeeta wohi sikander rise them to stardom and after that, the successful pair has played significant role in the hit movies like Kuch kuch hota hai, DDLJ, Sarfarosh, Ghulam, Raju Ban gaya gentleman, K3G, Ankhein etc. Other hits include Albela, Silsila hai pyar ka, Mohabbatein, Dhai Akshar prem ke, Khamoshi – the musical, Vaastav, Pyar kiya to darna kya, Dava, Fareb, Pyar to hona hi tha, Dil kya kare, Sangursh, Jab pyar kise se hota hai, Yes Boss, Saazish and Khiladi. They have also specially composed songs for Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt – Aathi kya khandala and Ee shivani respectively.  

Along with his brother, he has appeared in many television shows like Sa re ga ma pa in Zee TV and Star voice of India. They gave opportunities to leading singers – Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu in most of their songs. After 2000, they gave opportunities to Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan also. A few hit songs of this musical pair – Tum paas aaye and Tujhe yaad na meri of Kuch kuch hota hai, Ho gaya hai and Tujhe dekha to yeh of Dilwale Dulhaniya le jaayenge, Ek din aap yun and Chand tare of Yes Boss, Jaadu hai and Aakhom se of Ghulam, Title track and Bole choodiyan of Kabhi khushi kabhi gum, Saasom ko and Ladki kyon of Hum tum, I am the best and Title track of Phir phi dil hai Hindustani, Chand Sifarish and Mere haath mein of Fanaa, Yeh silsila of Silsila hai pyar ka, Kya yeh such hai of Dillagi, Mera ek sapna hai of Khoobsurat, Dil mein hai tu of Daava, Suno zara and Meri aakhom mein of Bada din, Oh oh jaane jaana of Pyar kiya to darna kya, Jab kise ki taraf of Pyar to hona hi tha, Pehla nasha and Woh sikander of Jo jeeta wohi Sikander, Waada raha sanam and College mein aayi ek ladki of Khiladi, Seene mein dil hai of Raju Ban gaya gentleman, Hum ko hamein se of Mohabbatein, Suno na of Chalte chalte and Kaho to zara of Albela.
