Lakshmi Gopalaswamy Biography

Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is a popular south Indian actress and a classical dancer. She is a Bharatnatyam expert and does many concerts. She has acted in many ads like AVT tea before joining the film industry as actress. She has performed well in many movies in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada. Among her Malayalam movies, Kochu kochu santhoshangal, Arayannangalude veedu and Paradesi can be considered as her best performances.

She debut Malayalam industry in the year 2000 oppsite Mammootty in the movie Arayannangalude veedu for which she won second best actress State Awards. Same year she did Kochu kochu santhoshangal along with Jayaram. She danced along with Bhanupriya in the movie ‘Kochu kochu santhoshangal’, a character that goes well with her real life image.

After a short break, she was paired opposite Mohan Lal in the movie Vaamanapuram Bus route. But the movie got cold response from public. Her role as the mother of a teenager in the movie ‘Boy friend’ of 2006 was appreciated. After the flops Samrt city and Kanaka simhasanam, she was paired again with Mohan Lal of Mayor Ravi’s Keerthi chakra. Though her role as Mohan lal’s wife was short, her role and songs were noted. In between, she debut Tamil movies through Kanavu Meippada Vaendum and Kannada through Vishu Sena. She was successfully paired with many Mohan lal movies later also. Mampazha kaalam, Paradesi, Bhagavan, Shikar, Arabiyum ottakavum pinne madhavan nairum, Pakal nakshatrangal, Bhramaram and Alexander the great were among those movies where they acted as pair or co-actors. She did the role of Mohan Lal’s sister in Christian Brothers.

In 2010, she got the magic role against Kannada superstar Dr.Vishnuvardhan in the movie Aptharakshaka. The movie ran for 35 continuous weeks in theatres. She did the role of a ghost possessed woman in the movie. Her tele serial in Tamil ‘Lakshmi’ was also well received by Tamil viewers. Her Tamil movies include Bheema and Kanavu Meippada Vaendum. She is most concentrated on Malayalam movies.

Her recent released Malayalam flicks are Naughty Professor, 916 and Oru Yathrayil. She is unmarried till now though she has passed 35. She dedicates her time full for her film career as well as dance concerts.
