Kushal Tandon is an Indian model turned TV actor. Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai on Star Plus is the most popular role he played. He played the role of Virat Singh Vadhera in this daily soap. He has also participated as a contestant in Nach Baliye 5 along with partner Elena Boeva in the year 2012-2013. He has also participated in the most recent season of Bigg Boss (Bigg Boss season 7).  He has won best male debut at television awards like Indian telly awards and Zee gold awards. He also won Rising Star Award at Saas Bahu Saazish Awards in 2012. He received nominations at Indian Television Academy Awards for Best Actor-Drama(Popular) and Star Parivaar Awards for best Jodi, aside Nia Sharma.

 
Kushal was born on March 28, 1985 in Kanpur. His father, Billu Tandon owns a transport and oil business and is president of the Transport union in UP. He started modelling at a younger age. In 2003 aged 18 he became First runner up of Grasim Mr.India contest in 2005. It opened doors for big assignments and has worked with leading brands like Sony Ericsson, Skoda, Activia, Airtel, Dairy Milk, Eva Deodorant, Reid & Taylor, Kawasaki and Bajaj for ads. He took a break from modelling and went to the United States to study in the New York Film Academy as he was serious in acting. Once returned, he got the big break to television through Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, which made him a household name and gave numerous television awards as well.

 
He was rated #6 in the Eastern Eye UK magazine's 50 Sexiest Asian Man 2012 and was in the Top 20 in People Magazine. Through the show Bigg Boss, he gained popularly among television audience and his eviction resulted in signed petition based campaigns. He was also romantically linked with big boss co-contestant Gauhar Khan.
