Kuldeep Pawar Biography

Kuldeep Pawar was an Indian film actor who predominantly worked in Marathi cinema. He has alos worked in supporting roles in a few Bollywood movies like Jeet, Dhoodhkakarz etc. As a television actor, the comedy series on Doordarshan metro during 1990’s "TuTu Main Main" directed by Sachin is one of the noted appearances, followed by "Paramveer". He is better known as a versatile actor of Marathi language who well-balances between comic and negative roles in theatre, films and television serials.He passed away on 24 March 2014 in Mumbai following a kidney failure. He was 64 then. His wife Nilima is a theatre person and the couple had two children.



He was born in Kolhapur in Maharashtra on 24 December 1949. His father has done brief roles in a few Marathi movies. He completed his education at his hometown before moving to Mumbai to work in plays. He was given a chance as a stage actor by play director Prabhakar Panshikar. Thus Ethe Oshalala Mrutyu marked his debut as a stage actor, where he appeared in the role of Sambhaji. Rakheli, Pati Sagale Uchapati, Asaahi Ek Aurangzeb, Ithe Oshadla Mrityu, Viz Mhanali Dhartil and Ashrunchi Zaale Fule are his noted roles as a stage actor. He is often addressed as Daddy. It was after the successful portrayal of a character called 'Daddy' in the noted play, Rakheli.



Later he joined movies and became quite successful as a character artist portraying negative roles as well as comic ones. Vedh, Jhaatyache Jaale, Darodekhor, Are Sansar Sansar, Gupchup Gupchup, Sarja, Shapit, Ekapeksha Ek, Vajir, Bin Kamacha Navra and Shrinath Mhaskobacha Changabhala are his noted Marathi movies.
