Krishna (Actor) Biography

Krishna is a very popular television actor associated with Tamil entertainment industry. He is a successful model too. He is best known for playing the lead role Prakash in the Tamil drama Deivamagal. The show aired on Sun TV from 2013 has most recently ended in 2018. Krishna has also appeared in films. He is married to noted film actress Chaya Singh since 2012. He is also associated with theatric productions, and has done one stage play Oru Koodai Paasam in 2009 directed by K.Balachandher.

Krishna was born in Chennai in 1982. He was born to Raghunandan and Nalini Raghunandan. During his childhood the family moved to Delhi, where he completed his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya. He completed his higher education from Birla Institute of Technology, Noida. To pursue acting in the entertainment industry, he did an acting course at Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) Noida before he joined television. Later he moved to Chennai in search of opportunities.

He got his first break through 2003 series, Sahana and he was casted in male lead. Since then the roles he did on small screen mostly were protagonist roles. He played lead role in Chidambara Rahasiyam, Sivasankari, Kanchana Ganga, Deivamagal etc. He played supporting roles in Selvi and Naan Aval Illai, and also makes special appearances for TV soaps occasionally. In 2004 he bagged his first best actor award through Mylapore Academy Awards. He won it for his lead performance in Chidambara Rahasiyam. His lead role for Deivamagal bagged him two best actor nominations at different television awards.

He has acted in a few Tamil movies also, and mostly played negative and grey shaded roles. He was seen in 2006 film Idhaya Thirudan in a supporting role, and later played negative roles in Azhagiya Asura, Eeram, Balam and Anandhapurathu Veedu. His brief role as a lover boy in Eeram was well noticed.
