Kothapalli Geetha Biography 
Kothapalli Geetha is an Indian politician who currently serves as a Member of Parliament. She won the Indian general election, 2014 from the country’s the second largest constituency in terms of area, Araku. It is her first term as MP, and she doesn’t belong to any political background. She is associated with YSRCP Party from Andhra Pradesh. But she contested the elections as an independent candidate without the support of any political party, which is indeed an outstanding achievement. Her primary efforts are focused on improving the life of tribal people, including infrastructure and improving health and sanitation program. Geetha also remained a social worker who worked towards the uplift of lower class.
Geetha was born on 4 February 1971 in Thimmapuram, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. She was born into a well-educated family, as single child to her parents. She belongs to Valmiki community, a Scheduled Tribe section in Araku area, and was the first graduate from the Tribal belt of East Godavari District when she completed her graduation in 1989. Her interest in studies pursued her to take Master’s degree in three subjects in the 1990s including Master of Arts in Psychology, Public Administration and Sociology.
At the age of 20, she started her professional career with Godavari Grameena Bank in the year 1991. Over the years she was promoted to the Manager post of the bank. She joined the government as a Deputy Collector in 1999. She resigned her post in 2010, and started her business career as a Director of various boards in Maheswara Group of Companies. She founded a non-profitable organization called the GEETHAS, which operates in four tribal regions of Andhra Pradesh. NGO focused on the uplift of tribal sectors, their education, health and many more fields. In 2014, she contested assembly elections as an independent candidate without any political backing and got elected from Araka.
