Ko Sesha Biography

Ko Sesha is a noted lyricist associated with Tamil films since 2015. Within a short span, he has turned one of the top lyricists of Tamil cinema at present. Kanchana 2 in 2015 was his debut work, where he penned lyrics for “Vaaya Veera" song. Music was composed by Leon James and sung by Shakthisree Gopalan. As a lyricist he earned appreciation through the film, Kavalai Vendam in 2016. He teamed up with same music composer for this film, and penned lyrics for all its four songs. The songs - “Un Kaadhal Irundhal Podhum", "En Pulse Yethitu Poriye", "Nee Tholaindhaayo" and "Un Kaadhal Irundhal Podhum Reprise" included in the album were sufficient to establish him as a leading lyricist. There was no turning back after that.

 

Ko Sesha’s real name is Seshasayee. He was brought up in Chennai, where he completed his education. Since young he got inspired to become a lyricist after listening to the works of Illayaraja and Vaali. He also wrote for school and college magazines. He also wrote for The Hindu's youth publications. His professional career began at the age of 19, when he got an opportunity to pen down lyrics for a Tamil television serial. He wrote the title song for a TV soap.

 

"Vaaya En Veera" under Leon James's music for the movie, Kanchana 2 marked his debut in film industry in 2015. He also wrote the song Vaazhum Naal for the movie, Moone Moonu Varthai composed by Karthikeya Murthy. In 2016 he got the big break by writing all the songs of movie, Kavalai Vendam. Same year he wrote the theme of Saithan as well. Yaman, Veera, Gulaebaghavali and Vedigundu Pasangge are a few more works.
