Kishor Kadam Biography

Kishor Kadam is a Marathi actor associated with Bollywood also. He is also a well-known Marathi poet who writes with the pen name - Saumitra. As a poet he is best known for the musical album - ‘Garawa’ with Milind Ingle, where whole lyrics were done on the topic of rain. This album helped Milind to become an established name in the music industry. As an actor, he is associated with movies, theatre as well as television.

 

As a lead actor, National award winning Hindi movie Samar released in 1999 is his best film. He played parallel lead with Rajit Kapur for this Shyam Benegal venture. Natarang – released in 2010 also needs special mention. He received Zee Gaurav Puraskar for best supporting actor and the Nilu Phule Sanman award for his memorable role as Pandoba, Guna's friend and mentor. Actually Nilu Phule was considered for the role of Pandoba in an earlier version of the film. The first Marathi movie to be released in a grand premiere, the movie rocked at box office too.

 

Associated with entertainment industry since early 1990s, he appeared in Antarnaad in 1991. Then he got regularly associated with Marathi film industry. Jogawa, Balak Palak, Vanshvel, Deool, Pangira and Ek Cup Chya are some of his Marathi films. Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Black Friday, Highway and Baby are some of his Bollywood works. For the new movie Ganvesh with cameraman-turned-director Atul Jagdale, he lost a whooping 13 kg to play the role of a kiln worker. The film is about a kiln-worker and his only son.
