Kirat Bhattal Biography

Kirat Bhattal known as Kirat or Keerath is a South Indian film actress. She started her career with modelling assignments and later moved to cinema. She is quite successful with Tamil films. She was born in Monrovia, Liberia and later moved to India. Telugu movie, Dongodi Pelli is her debut movie, released in 2006. Same year she debut Tamil with Vattaram. She made Kannada debut with the movie, Geleya in 2007. Santhosh Subramaniam, Durai and Naa Style Veru are her other noted appearances. Now she hosts a popular a travel show called 'Life mein ek baar’.

 

Her education was done at the Lawrence School, Sanawar. She started doing modeling assignment and television ads. Ad of Safi was the first one followed by Fair and Lovely, Siyaram and the Lakme. Kirat also modelled for Sri Kumaran Silks in Chennai, one of her most popular south Indian ads. Kirat debuted big screen with Dongodi Pelli, a Telugu film. Tamil movie, Vattaram was her big break where she debut the industry in lead role. She was paired opposite Arya and the movie was produced and directed by Saran. She got the role after Anushka Shetty opted out. The movie was average hit at box office and Arya expressed his desire to work with Kirat once again in the future. She signed Desiya Nedunchalai 47 opposite Dhanush. But the project got cancelled.

 

In 2007, she was casted as lead opposite Prajwal Devaraj in the movie, Geleya which was declared a hit at box office. She played a guest role in the successful Tamil film Santosh Subramaniam. Though her role was short she outshined the heroine Genelia according to film critics. She got lead role in Telugu film Yamadonga. But she turned down the role due to her commitments and the movie went on to become a super hit.
