Khushi Murali Biography

Khushi Murali was an Indian playback singer, who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. His real name is Korivi Muralidhar. He shot to fame after singing the very popular song, "Aadavari Matalaku" from the movie, Kushi in 2001. The movie was a remake of Tamil film with the same name, starring Jyothika. The song was a huge blockbuster, and later the singer came to be known as Khushi Murali. He sang over 500 film songs and 1,000 devotional songs for private albums in his career. His daughter Haripriya is also a playback singer. He spent more than two decades in his singing career.

 

Korivi Muralidhar was born in the year 1963 in Renigunta of Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. To pursue a career in singing, he later moved to Chennai. He worked as an assistant to renowned music composer Koti, before he turned a full-fledged playback singer. Later he went on to become a well-established playback singer of Tollywood, singing the likes of megastars, Mahesh babu, Pawan Kalyan etc.

 

He died at a comparatively young age of 50 in 2013, following a massive heart attack. His death was so unexpected. He was travelling in train along with his troupe and 13 year old daughter Haripriya to attend Kakinada Beach Festival. He died in the train itself. Khushi Murali was at his career peak when death took him away. His latest hit songs were Kewu Keva and Joramochindi from Pawan Kalyan’s blockbuster hits – Gabbar Singh and Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu respectively. Actor Pawan Kalyan remained lucky to this singer. His chartbuster hit song of Kushi, "Aadavari Matalaku" was also filmed on the same star. ‘Ippathikinka Naa Vayasu’ for Mahesh babu starrer Pokiri was also a chartbuster, just before he passed away.
