Kathir Biography

Kathir is a noted film actor associated with Tamil cinema. He played the lead role in Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013), which gave him a major break to the film industry. It was his film debut also. In 2015, he did yet another memorable role through Kirumi, where he played the lead role. It was his second movie release, and it earned him critics’ appreciation. Later he worked in Ennodu Vilayadu in a parallel lead role and Vikram Vedha in a supporting role. Sigai, Sathru and Pariyerum Perumal are his upcoming films. His supporting role as Pulli, Vijay Sethupathy’s younger brother in Vikram Vedha was well appreciated.

Kathir made an impressive debut with 2013 family drama, Madha Yaanai Koottam. His first break to films was given by Vikram Sugumaran. Oviya played his female lead. It was followed by Kirumi – directed by short film director Anucharan, Ennodu Vilayadu, and Vikram Vedha, a bunch of memorable roles. Ennodu Vilayadu was a thriller co-staring Bharath, Chandini Tamilarasan and Sanchita Shetty. The movie opened to mixed reviews and was only average at box office. His supporting role as Vignesh (Puli) in R. Madhavan & Vijay Sethupathi starrer Vikram Vedha was well appreciated, and very soon he bagged a bunch of new projects from Tamil cinema.

His real name is L. K. Vignesh. The actor was born and brought up in Erode, Tamil Nadu. His childhood days were spent in his hometown, where he completed his schooling from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Later he pursued Civil Engineering in Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. Vikram Sukumaran's Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013) marked his acting debut, which helped him to bag best debutant award as well.
