Karthik Sabesh Biography

Karthik Sabesh is a film actor associated with Tamil screen, best known for playing character and comic roles. He is associated with entertainment industry since 2006, and has completed one decade in the industry. He is the son of music composer Sabesh, who along with his brother Murali form the music composer duo of Tamil cinema, Sabesh-Murali. They composed music for many successful films and also worked as playback singers. His two cousins Srikanth Deva and Bobo Shashi are also music composers. Yet another cousin Jai is a leading actor in Tamil films. While most of his family members pursued music as career, Karthik loved to act on screen.

Karthik Sabesh was born and brought up in Chennai, in a family with close links to cinema and music. His father Sabesh is a film composer, along with his uncle Murali, while his cousins Srikanth Deva and Bobo Shashi also opted for music. Karthik decided to join film field, but as an actor. He was first seen in an uncredited role in the movie, Dreams in 2004 followed by Silambarasan's Vallavan in a bit role of college student. In 2009, he played the pivot role of Babloo in Kulir 100°. His cousin Bobo Shashi composed its tracks. In fact he received the role on Bobo’s recommendation.

It was followed by his breakthrough role of Petha Perumal in 2010 film, Kaadhal Solla Vandhen. It’s one of his most memorable roles played till now. Same year he marked his Telugu debut through Thakita Thakita. He gained success working on comic roles, and his dialogues too have been well appreciated. Udhayam NH4, Pattathu Yaanai, Burma, Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum and Mahabalipuram are some of his works in Tamil cinema.
