Karthik Biography 
Karthik is an Indian playback singer who started his career as a backing vocalist. He mainly concentrates on Tamil songs though he has sung in various other languages like Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
He was born on 7th November 1980 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. He had a liking for music since his childhood days. He got training in Carnatic music during his school days from his age of 4. He used to participate in the IIT Madras Fest Sarang.
He is a fan of A. R. Rahman and was aspiring to meet him and sing for him. It was the singer Srinivas who encouraged him to become a singer. It was through him that he met Rahman for the film Pukar. He got a break after the song for One 2 Ka 4. He sang the song Nendhukittaen for the film Star.
He sang at the cultural festival of BITS – Pilani in Hyderabad on 27th March 2010. He has sung a number of songs for many music directors like Ilayaraaja, Vidhyasagar, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Harris Jeyaraj. His biggest hits were Oru Maalai Ila Veyil Neram for the film Ghajini, Ennaku Oru Girlfriend for the movie Boys, Nijanga Nenanaa for the film Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Arare Arare, Oh My Friend for Happy Days, Ava Enna Enna Thedi Vandha Anjala for the film Vaaranam Aayiram, etc.
He sang at the annual cultural fest of National Institute of Technology at Trichy, cultural fest of the National Institute of Technology at Calicult and Indian Premier League Twenty 20 cricket events at Chennai.
He married Ambika on 12th July 2006 and has a daughter Kadhambari born in 2009. He has composed music for Coca Cola and Prince Jewelry advertisements. He worked as the music director so the film Aravaan by Vasanthabalan.
He received Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer award five times for the songs Oru Maalai in Ghajini, Arey Rey in Happy Days, Nizanga in Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Hasili Fisili in Aadhavan, Usure Poguthey in Raavanan. He was nominated for the Filmfare award for the song Vizhi Moodi in Ayan. He has also got Nandi Awards, Vijay Music Awards and many more awards.
