Kaiku Rajkumar Biography

Kaiku Rajkumar is a very popular and successful actor associated with Manipuri cinema. Marked his film debut with the 2003 romantic film Kalpana, he has appeared in more than 400 Manipur films in the past 15 years or so, and remains one of the most successful male actors of present times. Ta-Tomba the Great, Nungshit Mapi, and Mami are among his popular film roles. In 2018 he won state award for best actor for his role in Enakta Leiringei. His role in film Nongmatang earned him best actor award at the Sahitya Seva Samiti Awards 2015.

His real name is Rajkumar Somendro. His birth place Dimapur is the largest city of Nagaland. He was brought up in this city, where he completed his school education. He later graduated from DAV College, Chandigarh at Punjab. Kaiku made his film debut with the 2003 romantic film Kalpana, and he rose to prominence in the following years. He also won best actor award twice for the roles he played in Enakta Leiringei and Nongmatang. He is popularly known as Kaiku by the audience of Manipur and is the heart-throb of the younger generation.

He gives a lot of importance to his family and urges its support for whatever matter it may be. He also believes not to give responses to controversial matters. "Ta Tomba The Great", Basantagee Nongallamdai", "Oiramle Mahaktumak" etc are some of his best roles. He is to join politics very soon. Though he is not affiliated to any political party right now, he is to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.
