K. S. Simon Biography

K. S. Simon is a film music director and playback singer associated with Tamil films. Made his debut with Sasi's Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu in 2013, he gained attention through his first work itself, as a music composer and background scorer. The movie also marked his debut as a playback singer. The peppy romantic numbers topped the popularity charts.  Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani released in 2014 is his second work. Though he has rendered his voice for one track each for his two albums, he did playback singing for Jumpu Jilani. He sang the title track composed by Vijay Ebenezer.

He was born in Chennai in 1986. Simon completed his Engineering studies. While doing his college studies, he started his music career as a keyboard programmer and later composed and arranged music as well. He took his first assignment for singer and composer Jolle Abraham, and that time he thought about a career in composing music as well. In association with his friends, Keith Peters and Ravi Shankar, he started his career as a composer and also worked for jingles. He also worked as a freelance keyboard programmer for music composers during this period.

He left a CD with around twenty songs at director Sasi’s office which included the song Elavu. The director called him after listening the song.  Thus he bagged his first film. Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (2013) marked his film debut as a Music Director, of which the song Elavu was a chartbuster hit. The song also marked his career as a playback singer.  The following year he composed music for Aindhaam Thalaimurai Sidha Vaidhiya Sigamani and sang the song - Madurai Trichy Kumaringo. The transition from a musician to a music director was a challenging one. Yet he achieved success.
