K. R. Savithri Biography 
K. R. Savithri is a former Indian actress who predominantly worked in Malayalam movies in the 1970s and 1980s.She appeared in Tamil movies too, and one television serial, Thendral. In the 1990s, she moved to character roles. Yaathra (1985), Veluchami (1995) and Desatanakkili Karayarilla (1986) are some of her noted films, and she appeared mostly in supporting roles. She is the sister of famous south Indian actresses, K. R. Vijaya and K. R. Vatsala. Her daughters - Anusha and Ragasudha are also actresses. Currently she has retired from films.
K. R. Savithri was born on 25 July 1958 in Thiruthani, a town in the state of Tamil Nadu belonging to Thiruvallur district. Menda Ramchandram and Kunnampalli Kalyani Kutti Amma are her parents. Her father is from Andhra Pradesh and mother is from Kerala. She has 5 siblings of whom her eldest sister K. R. Vijaya has been a well-established actress of south Indian cinema in the 1960s and 1970s. K. R. Savithri and K. R. Vatsala also became film actresses, yet not so popular as K. R. Vijaya, who worked with almost all leading heroes of south Indian film industry. She is married and has two daughters - Anusha and Ragasudha and both are actresses of south Indian film industry. Ragasudha was formerly married to actor Ranjith and they filed divorce within one year of their marriage.
Savithri marked her film debut in the year 1970. Raktha Pushpam was her first film. She later appeared in Chuzhi, Aadarsham, Yudham, Parasparam, Yaathra, Shaantham Bheekaram, Padayani, Desatanakkili Karayarilla, Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Snehamulla Simham, Padayani, Koodanayum Kattu etc. With later 1980s, she moved to mother roles. Punitha Anthoniyar in 1976 was her debut movie in Tamil.
