K. H. Muniyappa Biography

Shri K.H. Muniyappa was born on 7 March 1948 in the family of Late Shri Hanumappa and Smt. Venkatamma in Kambadahally, District Kolar of Karnataka state of India. He is married to Smt. M. Nagarathnamma having one son and four daughters; It will be appropiriate to mention here that his only son is an IRS officer. Shri K.H. Muniyappa has a bachelor’s degree of LL.B. from Bangalore University, Karnataka.

He is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha at the ticket of Indian National Congress party. He has consecutively represented the Kolar constituency of Karnataka in the Lok Sabha since 1991. He was the Union Minister of State (Independent charge) of Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Manmohan Singh Ministry.

As a politician K.H. Muniyappa has a vast experience as he has represented Kolar constituency seven times in a row starting from 10th Lok Sabha to 16th Lok Sabha. Shri K.H. Muniyappa held the postion of Union Minister of state for Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in May 2009. He has also shared the responsibilities of as Minister of State for Surface transport in 2004, National Highways & Shipping in the Manmohan Singh's cabinet and again as Minister of State for Railways, during second tenure of UPA in 2009.Shri  K.H. Muniyappa has a long list of responsibilities he held starting from 1969 onwards-
