K. G. Markose Biography 
K. G. Markose is a Malayalam playback singer. He also owns numerous private albums including devotional songs. Though he has sung less than 100 songs for Malayalam movies, he is a well-known figure of Kerala. His striking similarity to the legendary singer, K. J. Yesudas in appearance, voice and singing style gained him quick attention. Though he owned a melodious singing voice and talent, since his singing style resembled Yesudas, he couldn’t make it big in Malayalam film industry. Not only that, when he reached film industry, Yesudas was the brightest star of Malayalam music industry and it was not easy to earn much opportunities. Yet through his talent and dedication, Markose has been asble to create a niche of his own and is still a popular singer among Malayalis.
He has numerous successful Malayalam devotional albums in his account, particularly Christian songs. Till now he has sung more than 10000 Christian devotional songs and 5000 Mappila songs, thus becoming one of the leading names in the private album industry. As a playback singer, his popular songs are Manthrikochamma Varunnunde of Godfather, Thalolam Poompaithale from Naadody, Vrindavana Geetham from Manyanmar, Puthan puthu kaalam from Kabooliwala, Arabi kathayile of Sadhayam, manjurulli pinne kaanam of Manathe Kottaram, Yadhukula Muralika of Mangalya Pallakku, and Male version of ‘Poomaaname' from the movie Nirakkoottu. Kannuppu maanam for the film Kelkatha shabdam was his debut movie as a playback singer.
In February 2012, he came to limelight when he was arrested and detained in Saudi and he had spent 2 days in jail. He was on way home after a stage show for Republic day celebrations, when he was arrested for want of proper documents and officials cited that organizers had not taken sanction for the programme. Later he told that Saudi police behaved well with him in jail and that he spent the night at the detention centre in the company of those who enjoyed his songs.
