Johnkutty Biography

Johnkutty is a successful and young film editor of Pulimurugan and Odiyan fame. As an independent editor, Mayamohini starring Dileep was his first project. Since then he has done more than 25 films as an independent editor, and some of his major works include - Ormayundo Ee Mukham, Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan, Masterpiece, Swarna Kaduva, Memories, Seconds, Amar Akbar Anthony, Pulimurugan, Paavada, Ivan Maryadaraman, Seconds, To Noora With Love and many more. He frequently worked with Nadirshah for his directorial ventures and all those works remained successful.

Johnkutty marked his career beginning with TV shows in the year 2000. He worked as an editor for the popular show, Munshi then. The following year he joined Kerala State Film Development Corporation as a non-linear editor. He continued with his television career editing several shows apart from a few documentaries. Later he worked under different editors as an assistant for many years till he turned a full-fledged editor in 2012. His debut film as an editor Mayamohini was a super hit, and since then he worked with several directors and actors of mainstream cinema. Almost all his films belong to commercial genre.

He edited 13 episodes of Tenali Raman for Cartoon Network during his initial days when he was associated with television. Sumangali and Jagapoga were other popular shows where he served as an editor. He turned an Associate Editor while working with Chitranjali Studio, Thiruvananthapuram, which provided him the ladder to film industry. He worked as an assistant editor for some of the well-known Malayalam films of 2000s such as Achuvinte Amma, Ore Kadal, Makalkku, Photographer, Rithu, Madampi, Seniors, Pokkiri Raja, Kaaryasthan, Traffic etc.
