Jhanak Shukla is a young actress of Bollywood screen best known for playing the adopted daughter of Jaya Bachchan in Karan Johar’s Kal ho na ho. Jhanak shot to fame playing the role of 'Gia Kapur'. She excelled both in acting and dancing with Shah Rukh Khan in the movie. She is the daughter of popular television actress - Supriya Shukla, known for her supporting role of Laboni Banerjee in Tere Liye. Jhanak had been signed for a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie Black. But she opted out. Currently she is doing graduation.

Jhanak Shukla was born on January 24, 1996. Her nick name is nickname is Princey. She was born to documentary filmmaker Haril Shukla and actress Supriya Shukla. She has one younger sister. The family lived in Delhi till she was 6 and later moved to Mumbai. She made her film debut at the age of 8 as a child artist through Kal ho na ho, where she played Preity Zinta’s half-sister. She entertained crowd through her dance sequences in Pretty Woman. In 2006 she played the kidnapped daughter 'Anishka Goenka' in Rajit Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irfan Khan starrer "Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante".

Apart from film roles she has also appeared in a few television serials and ads before she took a break from the field. She was seen in the popular television series of Karishma Kapoor - Karishma Kaa Karishma as a Robert followed by Son Pari, Hatim and Gumrah. Son Pari and Hatim are fancy tales. She also played a dumb girl in a Malayalam serial. She appeared in numerous ads and a music video with Parikrama. She walked the ramp for Aquafina when she was only 4. Her first ad was - 'ICICI Bank' offered by Pradeep Sarkar, who called her for an audition. She did it at the age of 5. Later she received numerous ad offers.
