Jeje Lalpekhlua Biography 
Jeje Lalpekhlua is an Indian professional footballer of India national team, and also plays for Indian Super League - professional football league in India. He played as a striker for Chennaiyin in ISL in 2015, and his team lifted the trophy. He is associated with the team since then, and one of the most valuable players too. He is the highest goal scorer in ISL since its inception. He was also a member of Mohun Bagan which won I-league in 2015. Thus he was named the FPAI Football Player of the Year 2015. India national team striker who scored India’s second goal in international friendly match against Nepal was adjudged the 2016 AIFF Player of the Year.
Jeje Lalpekhlua was born on 7 January 1991 in a remote village, Hnahthial of Lunglei district in Mizoram. His father and elder brother played for a local Mizoram club, while his uncle played in Santhosh Trophy. Jeje got inspired from his family members and chose the same stream as profession. When his father retired from Model Sporting Club, he replaced his position, and was associated with the club for four months. Though most of his family members are associated with football, they initially didn’t support Jeje’s decision to pursue football as profession. But after performance at the Wai Wai Cup held in Mizoram, he came to limelight and also got selected to Mizoram U-19 team, which opened doors for him.
After that Jeje impressed youth coach Colm Toal in the selection camp and got selected for U19 qualifiers. Among professional clubs, he played with Pune as a senior member since 2008. He was associated with the club for long 5 years. Later he became a part of Pailan Arrows, Dempo and Mohun Bagan before he turned a star with Chennaiyin in ISL. As a member of senior Indian football team, he has played 51 matches for India, scoring 22 goals.
