Javaid Rahi Biography 
Javaid Rahi is an Indian scholar and writer from Jammu and Kashmir. A versatile literary figure among the Gurjar tribe, he presents a show Mahari Awaz on YouTube in Gujari language, aimed for Kashmir audience. He is best known for his outstanding contributions towards Gojri language, culture and literature. He has authored, edited and compiled more than 300 books belonging to this genre. He received National Fellowship Award from Ministry of Culture, Government of India New Delhi in 2000. He has been felicitated by state government of Kashmir multiple times at various occasions.
Dr. Javaid Rahi was born in Chandak, Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. His village is near to LOC. He took PHD from University of Jammu. He is a researcher and prolific scholar, well-versed in literature, history, Culture and Languages. He has also written one script in Gujari language which earned him award. Over the years he authored, edited and complied many books, and a few received state and national level honours. Since 1994 he has been serving as an editor of numerous Kashmiri journals such as Sheeraza Gojri, Maharo Adab Gojri, Shingran Ka Geet, Gojri Ka Lal, Qadawar, Paneeri, Gojri Look Geet, Gojri Look Kahani, Gujjar Aur Gojri, Gojri Zaban-o-Adab etc.
He has mostly authored non-fiction books, based on his research works on tribal language and culture. His literary works in Gujari / Gojri language include - The Gujjars Tribe of Jammu and Kashmir, Concise Gojri Dictionary, Look Virso, Gojri Look Geet, Gujjar Shanakhat Ka Safar, Gujjar Aur Gojri, The Gujjars – in 6 volumes, The Gujjar Tribe of J&K, Folk-lore Dictionary of Gujjar Tribe, Hindi Gojri Dictionary, Encyclopedea of Himalyan Gujjars and much more. He compiled first ever Gujari / Gojri Dictionary containing 70,000 words spoken by the Gujjars and Bakerwal tribes.
