Jasmin Walia is a British television personality, singer, songwriter and actress of Indian origin and she is also known as a business woman. British reality television show The Only Way Is Essex earned her instant fame and recognition in the television field, and later she became a part of a few very popular TV shows. Known as a singer too, English-Punjabi single "Dum Dee Dee Dum" (2016) earned her recognition for the first time, followed by "Bom Diggy" (2017) with Zack Knight, and the song was later reused for the Bollywood film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, a box office hit film of 2018. She is very frequent with British television shows.

Jasmin Walia was born to Indian parents in Essex, United Kingdom. She is nicknamed "Sonam" by her mother. Her younger brother is a businessman. Since younger days, she used to imitate actors while watching TV shows. Her father noticed her interest towards the field, and enrolled her into singing classes at a younger age. At the age of 10, she started doing theater as well. Though she was away from India, she watched Bollywood movies and listened Hindi music too. After her studies she worked with Natwest Bank in the job role of Customer Adviser. Though she pursued a few educational courses since young, she dropped out of the study programmes number of times.

She was first seen in British reality TV series, The Only Way Is Essex in 2010 where she appeared as an extra. But later she got a supporting role for the same show. The show made her popular, and she appeared in several of its series. Walia was voted as the sexiest Asian in UK in December 2014 in the poll by UK-based Eastern Eye magazine. In 2014 she started a YouTube channel and started uploading song covers with artists. It gave her initial success, and later she released her first single, "Dum Dee Dee Dum", in April 2016 with Zack Knight which became an instant hit. In 2018, the song was used for Bollywood film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety with some alteration in lyrics, marking her Bollywood debut as a playback singer.
