James Vasanthan Biography 
James Vasanthan is a music composer and television anchor of Tamil. He has successfully anchored several programs on all the leading television channels of Tamil Nadu, before entering to music stream as a music director. He composed music for many good Christian cassettes numbering around 300, before releasing his first private pop album titled "Vasanai". In 2008, he entered film industry giving music and background score to blockbuster – Subramaniyapuram and achieved stardom in a short time frame. Eesan, Pasanga, Yaathumagi, Vizha, Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA and Paagan are other noted works. He was arrested on August 4, 2013 based on the complaint filed by his neighbor, remanded in custody for 13 days and lodged at Puzhal prison. Radha had claimed that he had verbally abused her and had shown indecent gestures towards her. But he was released later.
Vasanthan was born in Tiruchirapalli on October 1, 1962. His school days were spent at YWCA Primary School and Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School. He graduated in English literature in Bishop Heber College, and completed Masters in English in Jamal Mohammad College. He also holds graduation in Carnatic music from Madras University and in Western music from Trinity College, U.K. He also holds a diploma in Pianoforte, Guitar and Theory of Music. But surprisingly he entered television as an anchor, though later moved to music. He started composing Christian devotional songs. He has also been associated with church activities since childhood.
In 2003, James Vasanthan released a pop album titled "Vasanai". Then he continued as a music arranger and entered film industry through Subramaniyapuram. The song "Kangal Irandal" noted for its music and song picturisation was the top song of the year. The movie received Vijay Award for Best Find of the Year and also a Filmfare nomination. In 2010, Easan earned him Vijay music awards for Best Folk Song of the year.
