Jai Biography

Jai is an Indian film actor who concentrates in Tamil film industry. He was born on 6^th April 1985 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu and started his acting career in 2002 at his age of 17 in the role of the brother of Vijay through the film Bhagavathi.

His father’s name is Sambath. He has one elder sister and one younger sister. He completed his schooling and college in Chennai. He has a filmy background and is the cousin of Srikanth Deva and the music director Deva is his uncle. He worked with Srikanth Deva for 7 years and learnt to play keyboard and mastered music. He wanted to establish his career as a music director but the fate has destined him to be a hero. He is also related to the Tamil film actor Silambarasan.

Initially he had to struggle to establish himself as an actor. He was able to get some exposure through the film Chennai 600028 and performed lead role for the first time in the film Subramaniyapuram directed by Sasi Kumar. This was a mega hit and gave him fame and name. The song in the film Kangal Irandaal became one of the favorite songs of people.

Jai made some negative comments about his own films in the wake of March 2009. When he was performing in the films like Aval Peyar Thamizharasi, Adhe Neram Adhe Idam, Vaamanan and Arjunan Kadhali, he commented that only the film Vaamanan would be successful. This enraged the producers of his films and they filed complaint in the Nadigar Sangam Council asking them to take action against him for making such irresponsible statements about his own film. With the intervention of Soundarya Rajinikanth, this problem was solved smoothly.

His films Goa and Vaamanan tasted moderate successes. He has a resembling of the popular actor Vijay and so many people think that he is the cousin of Vijay. His film in 2011, Engeyum Eppodhumby M. Saravanan and A.R. Murugadoss was a blockbuster.
