Jacki (art Director) Biography

Immanuel Ambrose Jackson, best known as Jacki in the film industry is an art director of south Indian film industry. He is also a Production Designer. He is best known for his works in Tamil cinema, and among his best works are Paruthiveeran, Aadukalam and Visaranai, which won several state, television and national film awards. Started his career in 2006, he has spent more than a decade in the industry. The art director is also referred to as Jakie, Jackson, Jaxon or Jacky in the industry. Appavin Meesai, Indrajith and Thondan are his upcoming releases.

Jacki hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. He was born in the year 1974. His real name is Immanuel Ambrose Jackson. Ambrose is his father’s name. Everyone called him as Immanuel since young. When he reached films, his last name Jackson got abbreviated as Jacki, and other derivatives. He is mostly referred to as Jacki in film industry. He graduated from the Government College of Fine Arts in Chennai. He completed 5 years in the same college doing post-graduation also. His college tours across India, done at different points of time influenced him a lot in the professional career later. He started with ad field, followed by multimedia/animation where he spent 8 years in the field.

He marked his film journey with 2006 film, Poi directed by Balachander. It was followed by Agaram and Paruthiveeran the following years. Paruthiveeran gave him a big break to his professional career. He received a nomination at Vijay Film awards for best art direction for this film. Since then he has been associated with many milestone movies of Tamil cinema, which won national/international acclaim. Naan Sigappu Manithan, Om Shanto Om, Aadhi Baghavan, Samar, Janda Pai Kapiraju, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, Yaare Koogadali, Engaeyum Eppothum, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Aadukalam, Boss Engira Bhaskaran etc are some of the films with which he was associated with.
