Ishita Sharma Biography

Ishita Sharma is a film and television actress who played parallel lead role in Bollywood movie, Dulha mil gaya. She worked aside Sushmita Sen, Shahrukh Khan and Fardeen Khan in this movie. Before Dulha mil gaya, she debut Bollywood with Dil Dosti Etc in 2007, where she appeared aside Shreyas Talpade, Nikita Anand, Imaad Shah, Smriti Mishra and Dinesh Kumar. In 2008, she debut Tamil with Sakkarakatti, where she played lead role aside Shanthanu Bhagyaraj. But the movie was panned severely by critics and audience. Ishita Sharma later became popular through Hindi television serial Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and has found a loyal fan following. She is also known as a television anchor and is currently co-anchoring Dance India Dance Season 4 with Jay Bhanushali. She is married to film actor, Mohit Chadda and they got married in 2011.

Ishita is a trained Kathak dancer. As a child she wanted to be an astronaut, though acting was in mind. Her mother wanted her to become an actress. When they shifted from Dehradun to Mumbai, her mother started sending her pictures for auditions. She also did a bit of modelling. In 2007, she debut big screen with ‘Lions of Punjab Presents’ – an English movie. Same year she debut Bollywood with Dil dosti etc. But the role went unnoticed and she tried her luck in south Indian cinema. It too, was a failure.

Then she got her magic re-entry to Bollywood through Dulha Mil Gaya where she played parallel lead opposite Fardeen Khan. She also got opportunity to work with Sushmita Sen and Shah Rukh Khan in this movie. Though the movie was a flop, the lady playing traditional Punjabi girl was noticed by audience.
