Ishfaq Ahmed Biography 
Ishfaq Ahmed is an Indian professional footballer, who has retired from his active career as a professional career. But he has started his second innings as a football coach. He is currently associated with Jamshedpur team in the Indian Super League, playing the job role of an assistant coach. He also served as an assistant coach with the Kerala Blasters earlier. He was also a key player of the team then. As a successful Indian footballer, he has played with some of the leading clubs of India such as Dempo, Mohun Bagan, Salgaocar, East Bengal, Mohammedan, Pune, and Mumbai, and has been a team member of the winning side of Federation Cup and Durand Cup before.
Ishfaq Ahmed was born on 17 March 1983 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Initially he played cricket before he switched over to football. He started to play the game at Biscoe School and also for the local side, YMCA during his teens. At the age of seventeen, Ahmed led YMCA to the state league title. He played as striker for his team, and also became the highest scorer in the tournament. Satpal Singh was his first football coach, who brushed his talents. Later Ahmed was selected to join the state team U-21 for the Dutta Ray Trophy as captain. He was awarded the best player of the tournament award. There was no turning back.
He went on to sign some of the leading clubs across India. He played 22 matches for East Bengal during 2012-2013 season. In the following season, he played for Mohammedan on loan. He was also one of the key players of Kerala Blasters during 2014–2016, where he played the role of a footballer as well as an assistant coach. Kerala blasters reached finals for two out of three seasons when Ahmed was associated with the team. In 2017, he joined Jamshedpur as assistant coach, and is still associated with the same team.
