Ishant Sharma Biography 
Ishant Sharma is an Indian cricketer born on 2nd September 1988 in Delhi, India. He is right arm fast to medium bowler and bowls at an average speed of 145km/hr. He is capable of moving the ball in both directions. He entered the Indian Squad when he was eighteen. His nickname is Lambu. He toured England with the Under – 19 team in 2006 and went to Pakistan and played three youth tests and six youth ODIs for India.
He was selected in 2007 to play Test match against Bangladesh instead of Munaf Patel. Then he was called for the tour of England in July 2007. In the third test in Bangalore he could get 5 wickets and secured a place in the Indian squad for the tour of Australia. In 2008 January he was again called to replace the injured Zaheer Khan in the test at SCG. But he was not lucky in the match. On the fourth day of the match he could grab the wicket of Australian captain Ricky Ponting leading India to victory.
In the 4th ODI of CB series against Australia on 10th February 2008, he was able to get four important wickets and got Man of the Match award. In the seventh ODI of the same series, he bagged two important wickets of Australia. He always wanted to become a fast bowler. Bowling at a speed of 154 km/hr is his record.
Venkatesh Prasad was his bowling coach. He learned the difficult art of reverse swing from his coach and this method troubled the Australian batsmen in 2008. Ricky Ponting has pointed out that Ishant Sharma is dangerous. During the Test series against Australia in 2008, he was the leading wicket taker with 15 wickets and got the title of Man of the Series. In 2009, he was dropped from the second Test squad and he was replaced by Sreesanth.
In the IPL, he was bought for $950,000 by Kolkata Knight Riders, the highest amount paid to a bowler in the tournament. In the 2011 IPL he was bought by Deccan Chargers.
