Ish Amitoj Kaur Biography 
Ish Amitoj Kaur is an Indian film maker and theatre personality who currently resides in US. She was born and brought up in Shimla, in the foot of Himalayas. Chhevan Dariya and Kambdi Kalaai are her most noted films as a filmmaker. She uses unique theater and therapy techniques and often conducts theatre workshops for children. Grusha Vashnadze - Caucasian Chalk Circle, Paribhritika - Bhagwadajjukam and Kaveri - Raaste are her noted performances. Sikhs We Are and Drop In The Ocean are her noted documentary works. She has also directed a few plays like Evanescent Dreams, Charandas Chor, Pinti Ka Sabun and Alibaba Chalis Cho.
Born in Shimla, her schooling was done at Loreto Convent Tara Hall, Shimla and later graduated from St Bedes College. She completed Post gradation from Punjab University, Chandigarh where she majored in Theatre. Later she joined National School of Drama Repertory company where she was involved in various productions. She also became a Fellow of National School of Drama.
She played lead role in Bertolt Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle. She also acted in various theatre productions of NSD, Delhi. For a short period, she worked as the assistant director of Tara Punjabi for many Urdu television serials. She has also worked as assistant director for the critically acclaimed Bollywood movie – Pinjar. She has been interested in conducting theatre workshops, particularly for kids. She worked with Literacy India to participate children in such workshops. The kids who have joined her workshops have later worked in many Bollywood movies, Vishal Bhardwaj's The Blue Umbrella and Aamir Khan's Three Idiots being a couple of instances.
