Irshad Kamil Biography 
Irshad Kamil is a famous Urdu poet and lyricist of Bollywood at present. He is most famous for his lyrics penned for movies like – Love aaj kal, Aashique 2, Jab we met, Anjana Anjani, We are family, Athiti tum kab jaoge, Ajab prem ki gazab kahani, Yamla pagla deewana, A Wednesday, Dhol, Ahista Ahista, Karam, De dana dan, Khatta meeta, Once upon a time in Mumbai, Mere brother ki dulhan, Cocktail, Mausam, Jodi breakers, Shabd, Raanjhanaa, Kuch luv jaisa and Chameli. He is one among the most popular lyricist of Bollywood and has worked with almost all leading music directors of the industry – from Himesh Reshammiyya and sandesh Sandilya to A.R.Rehman and Preetham. Most recent release Raanjhana has been a huge musical hit.
He started his career as a script writer for Doordarshan soap opera like Na Jaiyo Pardes and Kahan Se Kahan Tak. His Bollywood journey started with Karthavya in 1995. The movie starred Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Kapoor in leading roles. Yet it was after 2005 that he got good opportunities from Bollywood. From 2010 onwards, he has been frequently nominated in Filmfare awards. He has won it twice till now for the songs – Naadan parindey of Rock star and Aaj din chadiye of Love aaj kal. He has been nominated only for these songs and has announced winner too. All the songs of Love aaj kal were penned by him and became chartbuster hits too – Chori baazari, Thoda Thoda Pyar, Yeh duriyan, Aahun Aahun, Main Kya Hoon and Twist.
