Indulekha Warrier Biography

Indulekha Warrier is an upcoming Malayalam Playback singer who hails from Thrissur. She shot to fame after singing the folk song, ‘Puthu Chemba’ for the movie Autorsha released in 2018. She has been into playback singing since 2014 and has also sung for Tamil and Telugu films. Eeran Kannilo from 2014 film, Apothecary marked her singing debut as a playback singer. Her father Jayaraj Warrier, famous caricaturist and actor played a character role in this movie.

 

Indulekha Warrier hails from Thrissur. Born as the daughter of well-known artist and anchor Jayaraj Warrier, she too chose art field, though she owns an engineering degree and MBA. She completed her MBA from CUSAT and was in search of a job, when her father advised her to follow her heart. Her father has always supported her in her music field, and as a singer her talent was first spotted by her mother who sent her to music classes in year 2000. Though she was lazy during her initial days in music classes, slowly she started attracted to the magic of music. She made her arangettam in 2011 at the famous Thiruvambady temple, Thrissur.  She also learnt Kathakali music during her academic years in CUSAT.

 

In 2018 she married her beau, Anand Achuthankutty, a civil servant in Indian Defence Account Service. A native of Thrissur, they have been dating for past 4 years. Apart from the songs of Apothecary and Autorsha, she has also rendered her voice for a couple of private albums. As a singer she first sang for a devotional album titled, Hare. She has also acted in one album and sang the promo song of Kerala Kalolsavam 2018 held at Thrissur. The song was an instant hit.
