Hussain Haidry Biography
Hussain Haidry is a Hindi writer, poet and screenwriter of Bollywood films. He came to limelight after penning the poem, Hindustani Musalmaan which went viral on social media. The thought provoking poem about religious harmony stole millions of hearts, and made him a popular poet of present times. He also penned lyrics for a few Bollywood films in the recent times such as Gurgaon, Qarib Qarib Single and Mukkabaaz.
Hussain Haidry was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He wanted to become a chartered accountant. After completing PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management Indore, he worked in a healthcare company in Kolkata for a while before he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams in writings. He wanted to become a lyricist and screenwriter, and work in Bollywood. He started performing at spoken word poetry forums in Mumbai and came to prominence when his poem 'Hindustani Musalmaan' went viral on social media. After that he came to be known as one of the promising young writers.
As a lyricist he marked his debut with Qarib Qarib Singlle in 2017 and penned lyrics for two of its songs. Later he wrote songs for Gurgaon and Mukkabaaz. He has also appeared in many TV shows reciting poems, and among all works, Hindustani Musalmaan received a loud applause. He wrote seven out of ten songs in the film Mukkabaaz, which was his first major work in Bollywood. The film was also critically acclaimed and his work got noticed. Currently he pens lyrics for Hindi web series too. He wrote the title song of the Amazon web series, Chacha Vidhaayak Hai Humaare, and also TVF Tripling season 2, which won him accolades.
