Huccha Venkat Biography

Huccha Venkat is a popular actor, producer, director, screenwriter and lyricist associated with Kannada film industry. In 2016 January, he did playback singing for one movie – Parapancha where he sang the song - "Huttida Ooranu" and also did a cameo appearance. In October 2015 he appeared as a contestant on the reality television series Bigg Boss Kannada 3 on Colors Kannada. In 2014, he scripted, produced and directed one movie titled Huccha Venkat and played lead hero role as well. Made on a moderate budget of only 19 lakhs, the movie earned 4.5 crore at box office, thus declaring it a super hit. A lot of controversies also surrounded during its movie release, which acted as a publicity stunt paving way to the success of the movie.

His real name is Venkataram Laxman and he was born in Bangalore. He pursued a diploma in civil engineering, though dropped out in the middle. Later he got associated with film industry and came into touch with Reshma, while working for the film - Swathanthra Palya. They had a live-in relationship and got married in 2007, but separated after three years. During the promos of his directorial venture, Huccha Venkat, he claimed that he is married to Kannada actress Ramya. He gave an ad in a popular newspaper on the Valentine’s Day, that he will abduct Remya and forcefully marry her. But when the actress came forward against him, he stopped his claims. He was retained in police custody. Later many parodies were made on this subject related to movie release.  

2005 Kannada film Mental Manja marked his onscreen debut as a character artist. In 2009, he made his directorial debut through Swathanthra Palya, where he played a supporting role as well. In 2014, the controversial movie with his name as title brought him to limelight. He was one of the popular contestants of Bigg Boss Kannada 3 aired on Colors Kannada. He formed Huccha Venkat Sene for the upliftment of the poor. This film personality is known for his love for blue shirts.
