Hrishitaa Bhatt Biography

Hrishitaa Bhatt is an actress and model who predominantly works in Hindi cinema. She is most remembered for her role as Shah Rukh Khan’s wife in Ashoka (2001). It was her debut movie. Other noted roles include – Dil vil pyar vyar (2002), Haasil (2003), Ab Tak Chhappan (2004) and Jigyaasa (2006). She has also appeared in many music videos and television ads. "Aankhon Me Tera Hi Chehra" by Aryans in the late 1990’s, with Shahid Kapoor is one of her most popular music videos. In 2008, she appeared in IshQ Bector's music video Daaku Daddy with Shakti Kapoor. Though she is a known face of Bollywood and charming entertainment field, she is still to prove as a talented actress. She appears in supporting roles and item songs also. My Name is Anthony Gonsalves and Page 3 are a few such instances, where she appeared as an item girl.

Hrishitaa was born in Mumbai on 10 May 1981 into a Bengali-speaking family. Since childhood, she took part in dance lessons and kept her body fit. She has been a school athlete also. She completed her education at Trinity College, London and wanted to become a pilot. But later she joined Kathak classes at choreographer Shiamak Davar’s dance school. She began to take some modelling assignments as well. She successfully auditioned for Liril ad and it was her big break in the modelling industry. She was selected and became the Liril girl with the cute smile. Her music video, Aakhom mein tera hi chehra made her a popular young model and very soon she debuted big screen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Ashoka.

She has also worked in Bollywood movies like Kisna: The Warrior Poet, Idiot’s box, Shagird, Deshdrohi, Don Muthuswamy, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge, Dhara, Heroes, Jawani Diwani: A Youthful Joyride, Aasma: The Sky Is the Limit, Ankahi and Dharm. She has also appeared in a few Bengali, Telugu and Urdu movies.
