Hrishikesh (tamil Actor) Biography

Hrishikesh is a noted Tamil Actor, best known for playing lead and supporting roles in Tamil films. As an actor he is best known for his appearance as Dhanush's brother in Velaiilla Pattadhari. His first film in a lead role, Rum - a horror heist thriller was nothing to offer new to audience, as per film critics. He was most recently seen in Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (2017) in a supporting role. He was introduced to big screen by Dhanush – his cousin, and has shared screen space with the actor for two of his three releases.

Hrishkesh belongs to a family, with rich heritage of art and tradition, with many members linked to the field of entertainment. He is the great grandson of Krishnaswami Subrahmanyam, Tamil film director of 1930s and 1940s - a key figure behind the establishment of the Tamil film industry since the days of silent movies. Krishnaswami Subrahmanyam’s second wife S. D. Subbulakshmi was a leading actress of early talkies Krishnaswami Subrahmanyam’s son and Hrishkesh’s grandfather S.V. Ramanan made a lot of films as well. He is the cousin of music director Anirudh Ravichander and actors Dhanush and Gayathri Raghuram. Noted choreographer Raghuram was his uncle and thus he is related to Kala and Brindha, Gayathri Raghuram’s maternal aunts. Padma Subrahmanyam, leading classical dancer is his great-aunt.

Hrishkesh pursued visual communication for graduation studies, and since then he has been exposed to films. During his younger days he used to visit film studios with his grandfather S.V. Ramanan who was also associated with cine world. He has been an average student in studies and always dreamt to join the film field, just like many members of his family. Fresh from college, he joined director Jayendra to assist him on a few ad films, before marking his acting debut.
