Honey Rose Biography

Honey Rose is a south Indian film actress who predominantly acts in Malayalam films. Though she starred her career in 2005 with the Malayalam flick Boy friend, it was through Trivandrum Lodge in 2012 that she rose to fame and became a stylish icon of new generation cinema. This single movie changed her image from a traditional and polite girl to a power lady of modern times. She played the role of Dhwani, a divorcee who wants to live her life in her own way and wants to have casual sex with gentleman of good character. This particular role is a great transformation of a traditional lady of Malayalam cinema and it placed her as a bold actress, though the movie is deficient of such explicit scenes. After the success of this movie, Honey changed her name to Dwani. But later she decided to retain her original name.

She started her career with Vinayan’s movie, Boyy friend in the year 2005. Till 2012, she tried her luck in all south Indian regional languages, yet couldn’t get a break what she was actually dreaming about. She debut Telugu in the year 2006 with the movie Ee Varsham Sakshiga and Tamil in the year 2007 with the movie, Mudhal Kanave. Then she appeared in a series of flop movies and less distinguished roles like - Uppukandam Brothers Back in Action, Singam Puli, Nanjangud Nanjunda, Sound of Boot and Aalayam, till she got her dream project – Trivandrum lodge. The movie received bad remarks from the public for its adult comedy, yet it was a box office success all over Kerala.

In 2013, she appeared in a series of Malayalam movies with Hotel California being the first. It was for the second time she was associated with Jayasurya-Anoop Menon team. Her role as Nancy in the segment ‘Aami’ of movie, 5 Sundarikal also needs special mention. The segment was directed by Anwar Rasheed. She appeared in V. K. Prakash’s next venture after Trivandrum lodge too. The movie was Thank you. Her movies - Pithavinum Puthranum Parishudhatmavinum, 1 by Two and Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus are scheduled to release in 2013.
