Hibi Eden Biography

Hibi Eden is a young politician from Kerala. He belongs to Indian National Congress. He currently serves as the president of the NSUI, the National student’s wing of The Indian National Congress. He is the son of late MP George Eden belonging to Indian National Congress. In 2011 he got elected to state assembly for the first time as UDF candidate. He represented Ernakulam constituency, and got elected when he was only 28 years old. In 2016 state assembly elections he retained his state at Ernakulam, despite LDF made a huge comeback to Kerala political scene. He defeated M. Anilkumar of CPI (M) by a majority of 21949 votes.

He was born in Ernakulam on 19 April 1983. He was born into a political family. Congress leader George Eden, former MP was his father. Goerge passed away in 2003 while he was serving at office. Hibi is married to Anna Linda, a Malayalam channel anchor since 2012. They got married after four years of courtship. The couple has one daughter, born the same year. Hibi has been into the political scene since his college days, and has served as general secretary of the KSU led Union at Sacred Heart College, Thevara where he studied. He held the position of State Committee President of the Kerala Students Union till 2009. He is also the former president of National Student’s Union of India.

A 2-time MLA from Ernakulam constituency, he is one of the prominent youth leaders of Indian National Congress at present. He was a strong contender of party candidate for General Assembly elections in 2009. However he started off with state politics after a couple of years, winning with a big margin of more than 32K votes. He was the youngest member of KLA in 2011.
