Hemant Mahaur Biography

Hemant Mahaur is an Indian actor who works in Bollywood portraying character and comic roles. This actor from Agra also works as an instructor who teaches students the essence of acting. He is a graduate from NSD, Delhi. He was last seen in the movie ‘Highway’ (2014) as the sidekick of Randeep Hooda. The black comedy - Haal E Kangaal is his upcoming flick. Jungle, Agent Vinod and Shool are the Bollywood movies where he played minor roles. This versatile actor has also appeared in a few short films and has also served as a dialogue writer for a few films. He has been associated with theatre for more than 25 years and has lots of experience in this field.

He belonged to a middle class family of Agra, UP. His father was a government employee. His first appearance as a stage actor was at the tender age of 6. Since then he used to regularly appear in school plays and he cherished his dreams to become an actor someday. Since childhood he regularly watched movies shown on Doordarshan along with his family and that’s how he got fascinated with film world. Since graduation at Meerut University, he was associated with theater and he took on acting field seriously.

After graduation he joined National School of Drama. He even enrolled for LLB after graduation. But when he got admission at NSD, he dropped his plans to become a lawyer. He also did a diploma course at SCR in the mid-1990s. After his three year course at NSD, he joined theater and got opportunity to work with doyens of Indian theatre like B V Karanth, Habib Tanvir, Satyadev Dubey etc.
