Hemant Chauhan Biography 
Hemant Chauhan is a singer and writer from Gujarat. He is associated with religious forms of music such as bhajans, garba songs, folk music, sugam sangeet etc. He is often referred to as Bhajan King of Gujarati Music. He has made some immense contributions towards the traditional folk music of Gujarat, for which he was awarded with 'Akademi Ratna Award 2011'. He has conducted world tours to promote Gujarati culture and tradition and his shows remained successful. He has a huge fan base in India and abroad.
Hemant Chauhan was born in 1955 in Kundni village in Rajkot district of Gujarat. He is one of the most popular and successful folk singers from Gujarat. He has sung around 6000 songs in total which includes folk songs, Garba etc. His voice is the reflection of purity of his heart, and that’s why he is a popular figure in the state of Gujarat. He sings bhajans with great devotion and takes listeners to a world of devotion and faith. His first album - 'Dasi Jivan na Bhajano' was released in 1978 and it was a huge hit. Since then he has already spent 4 decades in the industry.
In 2007 he conducted a tour to US. The song “Kathiya Wadi Lok Dayra and Bhajan Sandhya” became immensely popular, and earned him fame as a good singer. He sings Gujarati bhajans most, apart from a few other traditional and cultural genres of Indian music. He regularly sings bhajans of great Dasi Jivan. He also sings for Gujarati films as a playback singer and has won two awards as a Best Playback Singer in Gujarati films.
