Harsh Chhaya Biography

Harsh Chhaya is an Indian actor who works in Bollywood and television known for character roles. He made his acting debut through television in the early 1990’s and Hasratein on ZEE TV was his first noticed work. Through the negative role played in the movie, he came to prominence. In the political documentary series, Pradhanmantri on ABP News he portrayed the role of Sanjay Gandhi. Karishma - The Miracles of Destiny, Hum Ne Li Hai- Shapath, Ladies Special, Justajoo, Gubbare, Saaya, Swabhimaan and Taara are other noted works on small screen. As a Bollywood actor, he most recently appeared in National award winning movie, Jolly LLB as an eye witness who betrays the lead actor later. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007) is another noted work where he plays the role of a boss who asks sexual favours from Rani Mukerji to give her a job in his office. He mostly plays negative shaded roles.

He belongs to Mumbai. He is a graduate from Delhi’s Jamia Milia Islamia. He was first married to actress Shefali Chhaya of Sathya dame. They got married in 1997 and divorced 4 years later. He married Sunita Sengupta in 2003. The actor has witnessed the highs and lows of the small screen for over 20 years since he has been associated with the early days of television serials. The actor feels that television is now more for advertising than programming.

He played an illegitimate son in Doordarshan soap, Swabhimaan, a blind teacher in Daraar, a baddie in Hasratein. In 2002, he appeared aside Pallavi Joshi in Justajoo which earned him recognition which he really deserved. They appeared in an emotionally complex relationship which earned appreciation from audience. Ramji Londonwaley, Company, Janasheen, Corporate, Coffee House and Blue oranges are his noted Bollywood appearances.
