Harish Meena Biography 
Harish Meena is an Indian politician and parliamentarian from the state of Rajasthan. He currently serves as Member of Parliament of the 16th Lok Sabha from Dausa constituency of Rajasthan state. He represents Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been associated with police force also, serving many administration posts. He served as DGP of Rajasthan (2009-2013) – the longest tenure of a DGP in the state of Rajasthan. For his service to police force, he has received Indian Police Medal in 1996 and President Medal in 2002. Retired from police service, he joined politics, and is currently active in this field. He holds Master’s in politics from JNU.
Harish Meena hails from Bamanwas, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. He was born on 5 September 1954 as the son of Narayan Meena and Narayani Devi. While doing his last year Master’s studies in JNU, he got selected to Indian Police Service. He belongs to 1976 batch in IPS, and was first posted in Kharagpur, West Bengal Cadre. After serving three years here, he returned to Rajasthan. He served as Superintendent of Police during 1981-1991, followed by Dy. Inspector General of Police, Inspector General of Police, Additional Director General of Police, Director General of Police and Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India in 2013-2014.
During his association with police service, he is credited to make the recruitment process of Police Constables in Rajasthan more transparent. After he got elected to parliament for the first time in 2014, he mainly focused on education of his constituency. He also established two centre schools, to promote his mission.
