Harish Kumar Biography

Harish Kumar is a chocolate romantic hero of Indian movies during 1980’s and 1990’s. He has also worked as child artist in numerous movies. His most memorial movies are Daisy, the first movie in which he played male protagonist and Prem Qaidi, which happened to be the debut movie of Karishma Kapoor. Both these movies were well received by audience too. Combining both adult and child roles, he has done a total of 280 films, including all languages. In 2003, he produced one movie in Bollywood - Kaash... Hamara Dil Pagal Na Hota.

 

Harish was born in the year 1973. He started his career as a child actor in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. He won the state award for the best child actor in the year 1983 for Telugu movie, Andhra Kesari. A few of his memorable roles as a child artist include - Andha Kanoon, Farz Aur Kanoon, Kondaveeti Simham, Donga, Trishulam, Naa Desam, Prem tapasya, Ek Hi Bhool, Sansaar, Jeevan Dhara and Sri Madvirat Veera Brahmendra Swamy Charitra. In the year 1988, he made his adult debut at the age of 15. He played the lead role as Pradeep Menon in all time best school romance story of Malayalam, Daisy. Kamal Hassan made a guest appearance in this movie. Though he appeared in a few more Malayalam movies, none was noticed and he moved to Hindi film industry.

 

Karishma’s debut movie is also a love story. The movie was Prem qaidi opposite Harish. It developed a chocolate hero image to this actor. Later he appeared in many Bollywood movies like Gaddar, Tiranga, The gentleman, Naughty @ 40, Shapath, Hero no.1, Ravan Raaj: A True Story, Bulandi, Aunty no.1, Coolie no.1, Army, Bhishma and Chaar Din Ki Chandni. He appeared in Telugu movies like - Gokulamlo Seetha, S.P. Parshuram and Inspector Jhansi.
