Hari Shankar Roy Biography

Hari Shankar Roy is an Indian athlete who excels in the game of high jump. He has set the record of 2.25 meters on 28th September 2004 in Singapore during the Asian All Stars Athletic Championship.

 

Hari Shankar Roy was born on 4th April 1986 in Dhupjhor in a small village in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. He participated in third IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics in Sherbrooke in Canada. He was however eliminated in the qualifying round. He broke the national record of 11 years in July 2004 in the 44th Interstate national athletics meet held at Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

 

He cleared a height of 2.16 meters and won gold medal in the high jump event at 2010 South Asian Games. He broke his own national record on 28th September 2004 in the Asian All Stars Athletic Championship in Singapore with a height of 2.25 meters and took the silver medal in that event.
