Hakim Syed Fazlur Rahman Biography 
Hakim Syed Fazlur Rahman was a noted Unani physician from Tijara, Rajasthan. He was born in the family of Unani physicians who has contributed a lot to Indian traditional methods of Unani. His father Hakim Syed Karam Husain, elder brother Hafiz Hakim Syed Atiqul Qadir and his son Hakim Syed Zillur Rahman were all leading names in the treatment method of Unani. He is the author of Jalwa-e Khanoon – a compilation of poems, 'Usool-e Sehat' and 'Yaad-e Nazir'. He has also published memoirs of his Iraq's visit, including the cities Karbala, Basra, Samarra and Najaf.
Hakim Syed Fazlur Rahman was born in December 1912 in Tijara of present Rajasthan. He belonged to the family of Gardezi Sadaat and chose his family profession of ‘Hakim’. He inherited Unani way of treatment from his father. He was a mystic person who was interested in Sufism as well. Through the devotional practices of Sufism and Unani, he treated patients by serving Ta'wiz and drugs. He was also associated with shrines of Sufi saint Khwaja Khanoon and Muhammad Ghawth Gwaliyari. He published Jalwa-e Khanoon in 1965, in praise of Shah-e-Willayat Hazrat Khwaja Khanoon Sahib. He performed Hajj in 1982.
After India Partition in 1947, his family migrated to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where he made the new setup of the 'Dawakhana'. At first he practiced Unani with his father, then with his elder brother till 1975. He was married to Haneefa Begum, daughter of Qazi Khaliluddin – a religious scholar. He was married to Haneefa Begum, daughter of Qazi Khaliluddin. But she died at a younger age of 32. He migrated to Aligarh in 1975, where he continued practising till his death.
