H. Raja Biography 
H. Raja is a leading politician from the state of Tamil Nadu. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. A commerce graduate and lawyer, he is also a chartered accountant. Known as a controversial politician from the south Indian state, he was a member of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006 representing Karaikudi constituency. He is one of the national secretaries of BJP since 2014. He is also a member of Passenger Amenities Committee, Ministry of Railways (India) since then.
His full name is Raja Hariharan. He was born on 29 September 1957 in Melattur, Thanjavur. He was a member of RSS before he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. He became the district convener of BJP in 1991. He later served positions such as state secretary, state general secretary and finally became national secretary in 2014. Currently H. Raja is the chairman of Passenger Amenities Committee. He has organized three state conferences of Bharatiya Janata Party in Tamil Nadu. The first conference was held at Madhurai in 1995.
He got elected to state assembly in 2001, and he completed a term of 5 years. He gained 48.40% of total votes polled. But he couldn’t repeat success in 2006 and 2016 state assembly elections and finished at 4th and 3rd positions respectively. He contested from Alandur and Thyagaraya Nagar respectively earning only fewer votes. He contested for 13th Lok Sabha seat in 1999 from Sivaganga, collected 2,22,267 votes and finished second. In 2014 he unsuccessfully contested from the same constituency and finished only third. He contested in Bharat Scouts and Guides (Tamil Nadu) in 2017 and failed miserably this time as well.
