Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy Biography 
Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy is an Indian politician and Member of Legislative Assembly from the south Indian state of Telangana. He currently serves as the minister of Energy and SC Development in Telangana. He was the first education minister of the newly formed state. He is the first politician to become a minister from Suryapet constituency. He is also a member of TRS party politbureau. He has been a lawyer by profession, practising in Nalgonda district court before he forayed to active politics. Reddy belongs to Telangana Rashtra Samithi, and one of his early members since 2002.
Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy was born on 18 July 1965 in Nagaram of Jajireddygudem, Nalgonda, Telangana. Ramachandra Reddy and Savithri Devi are his parents. He completed his graduation from Sri Venkateshwar Degree College, Surypet in the year 1985 and later completed law studies from Siddarthu Law College, Vijayawada. He was a practicing lawyer in Nalgonda district court before he turned active in politics. He also had stint with Agriculture and Business.
Jagadish Reddy joined Telangana movement in 2001, and his journey as activist gave him an easy entry to politics. He was one of the early members in Telangana Rashtra Samithi, with a single point agenda of creating a separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital. The party carried agitation within the state which finally resulted in separate statehood for Telangana. In 2009 general elections, he unsuccessfully contested from Huzurnagar constituency. In 2014 state elections, he won from Suryapet Assembly Constituency. He joined cabinet ministry led by K. Chandrashekar Rao, and currently serving as the minister of Energy and SC Development.
