Gayathri Raguram Biography

Gayathri Raguram is an actress and choreographer of Tamil movies. As a choreographer, her most noted movies are big budget productions like Kanthaswamy (2008), Aadhavan (2008), Ko (2011) and Vaanam (2011) and satire work, Tamil padam. Gayathri is the daughter of noted choreographer, Raghuram. She is the cousin of famous choreographer of Tamil movies, Kala (Girija’s sister). Her sister Suja is also a prominent dancer and actress. She has acted in Tamil movies like Charlie Chaplin and Whistle.

Charlie Chaplin, released in 2002 is her debut movie as an actress. Same year she debut Malayalam with the flop movie - Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari. Though she appeared in a series of movies, all the movies flopped one after the other. After struggling 3 years she left the industry after marriage. But she returned back in a bang as a choreographer and this time, she became successful. She got married in 2006 to Deepak Chandrasekhar, a software engineer from US and the couple legally separated after 3 years in 2009.

Gayathri was born to dance choreographers Raghuram and Girija Raghuram in 1983. She debut big screen in the year 2002 with the movie, Charlie Chaplin. Same year she debut Kannada with Manasella neene and Malayalam with Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari. Later she appeared in Tamil movies like Style, Parasuram, Whistle and Vikadan. She debut Telugu in the year 2003 with the movie, Maa Bapu Bommaku Pellanta. But her career didn’t take off and she appeared in a few item songs later. She made special appearance in songs like "Who Am I?" of Vaanam.

After her divorce, she returned back to India and concentrated on dance. As a choreographer, she became successful as well. She appeared as a fitness trainer in songs like "Inthajare Inthajare" of Love failure and "Azhaipaya Azhaipaya" of Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi.
