G. K. Govinda Rao is a noted writer, theater activist and actor from Karnataka. He is also known as an English professor. A popular TV actor he is best known for playing noted roles in Kannada series - Maha Parva, Malgudi days etc. In fact Malgudi days is one of the most popular and nostalgic series of late 1980s aired on Doordarshan and aired on national network.
